In Simple Word’s The goods and services tax (GST) is a value-added tax imposed on most goods and services in India which is sold for domestic consumption. The GST is paid by consumers, but it is transferred to the government by the businesses selling the goods and services

There are 3 types of Gst.

  1. a) CGST- It’s the Central Good’s and Service Tax , It’s the Central Good’s and Service Tax, it is levied by the Central Government. And the tax revenue is collected by the Central Government on the Good’s & Services
  2. b) SGST- It’s the State Good’s and Service Tax, it is levied by the State Government. And the tax revenue is collected by the State government on the Good’s & Services

The GST is paid by consumers, but it is remitted to the government by the businesses selling the goods and services.

  1. c) IGST- It’s the Integrated Good’s and Service Tax, it is levied by the Central Government. And the tax revenue is collected by the Central government on the Good’s & Services Tax is Levied on Import/Export, Inter-state good’s and service transaction’s

The fine charged of Rs 200/- per day is charged if there is delay in filing GST. There is no such late fees charged in IGST
If the GSTR is not Filed, then there will be a penalty of 10% of Tax due or Rs 10,000, whichever is earlier
If someone has committed fraud, then there will be a penalty of 100% of the tax due or Rs 10,000 whichever is earlier.

What is The limit to be considered under GST laws are different for the different categories:

For Manufacturing Sector – 40 lakhs

Service sector – 20 lakhs

In North Eastern states – 10 lakhs

Yes, Gst Registration is compulsory if you want to sell online through Flipkart, Amazon, GeM Portal or Any other Online Portal. Without Gst Certificate you cannot Sell or List your Product.
